Solihull is not short of gyms. Coaching is harder to find.

Plenty of places across the borough will sell you good kit and a monthly fee. What is harder to find is a room where a coach writes your programme, watches every set and keeps the group small enough to see you properly. That is the whole model here: programmed strength and conditioning in small coached groups, capped at seven.

Getting to us is simpler than it looks on a map. From the town centre it is the M42 to Junction 3A, the M40 south to Junction 14 and a couple of minutes along Europa Way. You park outside the unit, a coach is waiting on the floor and the session is already written.

The real question for anyone in Solihull is not whether the coaching is good. It is whether half an hour each way fits your week. The commute guide further down is our honest answer, neighbourhood by neighbourhood and slot by slot.

Why the trip pays off

What thirty minutes from Solihull actually buys you.

A commute only makes sense if the session at the other end beats anything closer to home. This is what is waiting for you at Rigby Close.

01

Coaching worth thirty minutes of motorway

Not a floor walker and not an app. The coach running your session watches your depth, your bracing and your pacing, and adjusts the plan in the room. When you have driven half an hour to be there, every minute on the floor should be coached.

02

A plan that survives a bad week

Your training is written in progressive blocks and adjusted week to week, so a session lost to a jammed M42 does not undo anything. You come back in, and the next session is already written and waiting.

03

Capped at seven, so you never queue for kit

Groups are capped at seven, so nobody spends the start of the session hunting for a free rack or rower after a long drive. You arrive, warm up and get going, with a coach close enough to correct you.

04

HYROX, with the NEC on your doorstep

HYROX Birmingham is raced at the NEC, inside Solihull borough, which makes it close to a home race if you live here. We are an official HYROX Training Club, and our race coaching runs in small groups too, with the running, sled and wall ball work built into a structured block rather than improvised.

Commute guide

Plan the drive from your corner of Solihull.

Solihull is a big borough, and the best way to Rigby Close depends on which end of it you live in. Times are rough and off-peak; your satnav will know about today’s roadworks before we do.

01

Town centre and the airport side

Join the M42 at Junction 5 from the town centre, or at Junction 6 if you are nearer the airport and the NEC, and stay on it to Junction 3A for the M40. The thirty minutes is measured from the town centre, so allow a few more from the north of the borough.

02

Shirley, Monkspath and Cheswick Green

The A34 Stratford Road takes you straight to Junction 4 of the M42, one junction from the M40 interchange at 3A. Of the motorway routes in from Solihull, this one spends the least time on the M42 itself.

03

Knowle, Dorridge and Bentley Heath

Junction 5 of the M42 is only a few minutes from Knowle, so the motorway is the obvious default. If it is crawling, the A4141 Warwick Road through Chadwick End is the cross-country alternative towards Warwick, and from there it is a short hop to Heathcote.

04

Balsall Common, Berkswell and Meriden

From the eastern side of the borough the M42 is a detour. The A452 runs south through Kenilworth towards Leamington, or your satnav may send you round on the A46, and either way the motorway stays out of the picture.

When to drive

Pick slots that dodge the traffic.

We cannot move the M42, but you can choose when you drive it. You hold regular weekly slots here, so it is worth choosing ones that suit the roads as well as your diary.

06:15

Ahead of the morning rush

Weekday doors open at 06:15. Leave Solihull at around a quarter to six and the M42 is about as quiet as it gets, so you have trained before most of the borough has started its commute.

20:00

After work

Evening sessions run until 20:00, Monday to Friday. If you work in Solihull or Birmingham, a later slot lets the motorway clear before you set off. If you work in Warwick or Leamington, you can come straight from the office and head home once the roads have eased.

07:30

Saturdays, the easy drive

Saturday runs from 07:30 to 12:00, and weekend traffic on the M42 and M40 is usually kinder. If weekday mornings belong to the school run, one weekday evening plus Saturday is a realistic way to start, and we will map it out with you on the discovery call. We are closed on Sundays.

What keeps members coming back each week.

“Olivia and Martin have created a really welcoming, cohesive and structured small group training environment. They are amazing coaches who take the time to check in during sessions, and you never need to think about what you are doing as you are told.”

Amy FludeGoogle review

“The best decision I have made was joining this gym. What I thought might be something I join for a few months to kickstart getting back into the gym has ended up with me still being here 3 years later.”

Kiren RaiGoogle review

“I was 56 and well over 18 stone. A short conversation with Olivia convinced me to go and have a free try out. From the moment I walked in I was made to feel like one of the family. Everything immediately felt different.”

Before your first drive

Solihull questions, answered honestly.

How long is the drive from Solihull?

Around thirty minutes from Solihull town centre outside rush hour, and roughly twenty miles. Take the M42 to Junction 3A, the M40 south to Junction 14, then the A452 Europa Way to the Gallows Hill roundabout and onto Heathcote Lane. Rigby Close is on the Heathcote Industrial Estate.

Which session times suit a Solihull commute?

Weekday doors open at 06:15 and sessions run until 20:00, so you can drive before the M42 gets busy or after it clears. Saturday runs from 07:30 to 12:00 and is usually the easiest drive of the week. We are closed on Sundays. On the free discovery call we will look at your week and suggest slots that fit the roads as well as your diary.

Can I get there from Solihull without a car?

Yes, although driving is simplest. Direct trains from Solihull and Dorridge reach Leamington Spa in roughly twenty to twenty-five minutes, but the gym is on the south edge of town, so you would need a taxi or a bike for the last stretch from the station.

I work south of Solihull. Can I train on the way?

Often, yes. The gym is a couple of miles from Junction 14 of the M40, so if your working day already takes you down the motorway towards Warwick or Leamington, an early or evening session can fit around the commute rather than becoming a separate trip.

Is there parking?

Yes, free on-site parking right outside Unit 7E. After the drive from Solihull you will not be circling for a space or paying for one.

I have not trained properly in years. Will I keep up?

Yes. Every session is coached and groups are capped at seven, so the coach scales each movement to where you are on day one. Everyone follows their own programme, so nobody is held back and nobody is left behind.

How do I get started?

Send an enquiry and a coach will reply within 24 hours to arrange a free fifteen minute discovery call. If it feels right, you begin with the 6 Week Experience, a paid, coached six-week block. Everything is explained on the Getting Started page.

How much does it cost?

Small group PT sits between a standard gym membership and one-to-one personal training on price. We share exact pricing on the discovery call, once we know how often you want to train. Send an enquiry to start that conversation.
